Relocating from its longtime headquarters on Denny Way, The Seattle Times moved into a more compact workplace on the fifth floor of Alley24 in South Lake Union. JPC Architects designed the new office to honor the character and history of the newspaper while creating a modern, efficient environment that thoughtfully reuses the existing architecture and finishes.

The design balances a sense of familiarity with a fresh perspective, incorporating elements that reflect The Seattle Times’ longstanding presence in Seattle while supporting the organization’s evolving workplace needs. Thoughtful planning and carefully considered adjacencies create a cohesive environment for a variety of departments, work styles, and levels of collaboration.

The result is a contemporary workplace rooted in the identity of The Seattle Times—preserving a sense of its history while creating a welcoming and adaptable setting for its next chapter.
