POLISHED AMENITIES INSPIRED BY SEATTLE’S SKYLINE
The Level 11 amenity space at 1916 Boren brings sophistication and versatility to a new life sciences building in Seattle. Designed to serve multiple tenants, including Seattle Children’s Research Institute, the space offers a refined setting for board meetings, staff training, and informal gatherings, all framed by sweeping views of the city skyline and the iconic Space Needle.
The design embraces a polished, contemporary aesthetic with a sophisticated color palette and dynamic angled elements that create movement and visual interest. Custom features include a slanted wood slat ceiling in the boardroom and a slanted bookshelf anchoring the open collaboration area, complemented by playful RBW wall sconces, Sabin acoustic light fixtures, and MDC Zintra acoustic panels. Polished concrete floors and exposed shear walls celebrate the building’s modern character.
To soften the long corridor, JPC introduced accent-painted furring walls with dynamic wall sconces between windows, maintaining openness while adding warmth and rhythm. Despite a tight timeline and near-complete construction, the team delivered design drawings, renderings, and a refreshed finish palette for seamless integration.
The result is an elevated amenity space that balances functionality with comfort, supporting formal meetings, collaborative work, and moments of respite, all within a setting that reflects the building’s contemporary spirit.
